Q4 inboxes and feeds are about to get crowded, and last quarter’s tactics might not be enough to stand out. Jay and Daniel trade the subject line plays they’re betting on right now. Daniel puts a specific number like 7, 5, or 8 (never a round 10) at the front of his subject lines, and he mixes lowercase with a single all-caps word. Jay capitalizes the entire first word, like NEW, and opens with the offer in brackets. He also moves emojis to the middle or end of the subject line, or bookends them in the preheader, because a leading emoji causes problems for screen readers.
They also break down LinkedIn’s new collaborative posts, which push one post into up to five feeds (including company pages) without counting as sponsored. Then they get into why Instagram’s new AI agents in Edits are worth using now but could turn everyone’s feed into a wall of sameness later. Daniel’s workaround is to test new hooks with trial reels so they reach non-followers first. The bigger lesson is that when a platform launches a new feature, you should lean in early, because that’s when it gets the most distribution. If you’re a Marketer who wants more opens and more reach heading into Q4, this is the episode for YOU.
