The Fastest Way to Make Your Copy Sound Human

Most Marketers write like they’re trying to impress a committee.

Talk It Out Copywriting Method

1️⃣. Open the voice recorder on your phone or computer. Doesn’t matter what you use. Notes app, Otter, Google Docs, whatever.

2️⃣. Pretend you’re texting your smartest friend. Not your boss. Not legal. Not ChatGPT. A real person who gets it and wants the truth.

3️⃣. Explain your product, idea, or message out loud.

– What does it do?

– Why should anyone care?

– Why now?

– Say the hook. Say the pitch. Say the close.

4️⃣. Keep it casual. Say it how you’d explain it at dinner. Or in the group chat. 

5️⃣. Transcribe your recording. You’ll find real verbiage. Human phrasing. Actual clarity. Phrases that land. Stuff you’d NEVER have written from scratch.

6️⃣. Edit lightly. Tighten it. Organize it. Clean it up. But, don’t strip the voice.

Why it Works

Because when you talk, you don’t overthink. You LEAD with the value. You focus on what matters. Not what sounds “markety.” Is that a word? Don’t answer that.

It’s the shortcut to writing copy that sounds like a person, not a policy doc.
