If you aren’t building on LinkedIn in 2025, then you’re missing out on the biggest Marketing hack of the DECADE.

It’s where business actually happens.Clients, deals, partnerships, job offers, EVERYTHING.

And the people winning that business?

The ones that are showing up and posting.

That’s why I had on Alex Rynne, Senior Content Marketing Manager over Marketing Solutions at LinkedIn.

We discussed it all on The Marketing Millennials Podcast.

Alex has been running content at LinkedIn for OVER 10 YEARS.

She’s seen what works, what flops, and what’s about to BLOW UP 💥.

Here’s what she had to say in her own (lightly edited) words:

1️⃣. Lighten Up, B2B!

Alex’s Take:

“People often assume that B2B buying decisions are too serious for entertainment, but that’s not true. People still want to be entertained.”

B2B Marketing often gets boxed into this “serious business” category, but that’s a huge mistake. People, no matter their role or the context, still want to be entertained and engaged.

Right now, B2B is playing it way too safe. It’s time to shake things up and bring some fun and personality into the mix.

Takeaway:Don’t let B2C have all the fun.

A little humor here and there goes a long way for your brand.

2️⃣. Top Of FUNnel.

Alex’s Take:

“Never underestimate the importance of top-of-the-funnel content and investing in brand.”

When times get tough, brands love to cut the budget for all that top-of-funnel content and just put it into lead generation.

This is a HUGE mistake. While it’s harder to measure the success of top-of-funnel content, it still impacts your engagement, and by extension, your bottom line.
Takeaway:

Top-of-funnel has a role to play and when played well, it pays dividends.

Nothing good ever came from cutting and running when things got hard.

3️⃣. Get Remembered.

Alex’s Take:

“The brand that gets bought is the one that’s remembered.”

The easiest way to get remembered is through genuine, human interaction.

When employees from your company talk about topics that are connected to your brand (or even totally unrelated) it adds layers to your brand’s credibility.

It’s like you’re not just a faceless company pushing out products but you’re a group of real people, with real opinions and expertise.

Takeaway: People connect with people, not faceless brands, and that builds lasting credibility.

A little authenticity and value go a long way, turning those casual posts into powerful brand drivers.

4️⃣. Float Above The Sea of Sameness.

Alex’s Take:

“You don’t need to say anything unless you actually have something to say.”

With AI content entering the game, the gap to creating content has effectively closed. Anyone can make content and it’s led to “the sea of sameness” or an overwhelming amount of generic content.

Don’t feel like you have to post, just for the sake of posting. Only post when you REALLY have something to say.

Takeaway:

Say what you need to say and keep it at that.

If you only pop up when you have something WORTH saying, then your content will really pop out amongst the sea of sameness.

5️⃣. Authenticity > Perfection…ticity

Alex’s Take:

“I would say a big barrier for a lot of people when it comes to starting with video on LinkedIn is the perfectionist mindset.”

We all want to look professional, but when did looking “professional” mean not being human?

No matter what’s in the back of your content, like a dog barking or unfolded laundry, keep it in there. That imperfection makes you look more authentic and therefore more relatable.

Takeaway:

A good idea done imperfectly is better than a great idea not done perfectly.

Your content is not gonna be amazing at first, but getting that imperfect video posted is the first step toward making better content.
